Segen Berihu Dirar (MD)

Dr. Segen Berihu serves as a Youth Friendly Service Technical Advisor at USAID-Integrated Youth Activity. She holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from Gondar University Hospital and has extensive experience in Tigray, where she practiced as a General Practitioner and also served roles including Inpatient Director, Drug Therapeutic Committee member, and Management Team contributor. Her dedication and compassionate care earned her the title of CRC (Compassionate Respectful and Caring) Ambassador during her clinical practice. Beyond her medical work, Dr. Segen is deeply committed to youth empowerment and volunteerism. She is an alumna of the 2021 Community Solutions Program (CSP), where she focused on empowering Adolescent Girls and Young Women to promote healthy Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. She continues to be a passionate advocate for youth issues, particularly in the realm of SRHR, and currently serves as a Board Member of the newly established organization, US Exchange Alumni of Ethiopia.
